What is padel and why is it growing so fast in Mexico?
Padel is a racket sport played in pairs on an enclosed 10×20 m padel court with tempered glass walls. It combines elements of tennis and squash. In Mexico it grows at a double-digit rate every year: today it is the fastest-expanding racket sport, with new clubs opening every week in CDMX, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Querétaro and the Riviera Maya. It is easier to learn than tennis, social by nature and profitable as a business, with a typical payback of 6 to 12 months.
What types of padel courts are there?
There are 4 main types of padel court: Classic (visible metal posts, 10 mm glass, ideal for residential use — $415K MXN), Semi-Panoramic (10 mm glass with 12 mm glass ribs, no corner posts, the best seller for clubs — $440K MXN), Panoramic Full View (360° view approved by the FIP, for premium clubs and tournaments — $470K MXN) and Singles 6×20 m (personal training). All can be indoor or outdoor, with an optional roof.
What are the official dimensions of a padel court?
An official padel court measures 10 m wide × 20 m long (200 m²), dimensions approved by the International Padel Federation (FIP). The minimum clear height must be 6 m, with 8 m recommended.
How many square meters does a padel court need?
A regulation padel court needs exactly 200 square meters of playing surface. Length: 20 meters. Width: 10 meters. Shape: a rectangle divided symmetrically into two 10 × 10 m halves by a center net, approved by the International Padel Federation (FIP). Those 200 m² are only the playing area — the total land you need to build it is 264 m² (22 × 12 m) →
How much land do you need for a padel court?
You need a plot of at least 22 × 12 meters (264 m²) to build and install a padel court comfortably and safely. The official playing area is only 20 × 10 m (200 m²), but the actual plot must be larger because it has to cover: the base and anchoring of the structure (~20.50 × 10.50 m), safety walkways around the perimeter for access and maintenance, and space for drainage and lighting. If you plan a separate covered structure, the recommendation rises to 23 × 13 m or up to 24 × 14 m. See the full land table for 1 to 8 courts (in Spanish) →
What is the minimum height of a padel court?
According to the rules of the International Padel Federation (FIP), the minimum clear height over the whole playing area is 6 meters (8–10 m recommended on covered courts, so lobs are not restricted). The perimeter elements have their own dimensions: the tempered glass panels at the back and sides are 3 meters high, and above them goes 1 additional meter of welded wire mesh, giving a total perimeter height of 4 meters. The net is 88 cm high at the center and up to 92 cm at the ends, held by posts no taller than 1.05 m. See all official FIP dimensions (in Spanish) →
With material in stock, a court ready to play is installed in 7 days. For projects of 3 to 4 courts, the total timeline is approximately 15 days. Timelines include full installation and technical testing.
What does our turnkey court include?
It includes everything: reinforced metal structure, 10 mm tempered glass (12 mm on the panoramic), 5×5 cm welded wire mesh, imported 12 mm textured curly turf, official net with hidden-winch posts, 4-pole LED lighting with 2 reflectors of 200 W each, transport, installation, technical support and documentation. There are no hidden line items. How much a padel court costs: breakdown by model (in Spanish) →
What materials are used?
Reinforced metal structure, 10 mm tempered glass (12 mm on the panoramic; the semi-panoramic has 12 mm glass ribs), 5×5 cm welded wire mesh, imported 12 mm textured curly turf, official net with hidden-winch posts and 4-pole LED lighting with 2 reflectors of 200 W each.
What does the warranty cover?
The synthetic turf has a 3-year warranty against fading (wear from normal use is not considered a defect). The installation has a 1-year warranty. With proper maintenance — regular brushing and replacing silica sand every 6-12 months — the real service life of the turf is 8-12 years of play.
Do you build padel courts throughout Mexico?
Yes. We have our own certified crews that build in all 32 states. We have already installed more than 120 clubs in CDMX, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Querétaro, Tampico, Reynosa, Cancún, Hermosillo, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas and many more cities.
What permits do I need?
Each municipality has different requirements. You will generally need a municipal building permit and, for a covered court or commercial use, a fire-retardant turf certification. Your architect or local team coordinates the paperwork — we share the product's technical specifications so they can be submitted to the relevant authority.
What maintenance does a padel court require?
Light maintenance: brushing the turf every 2 weeks, replacing silica sand every 6-12 months, periodic glass cleaning, and an annual check of mesh and light fixtures. We leave you a detailed manual when we hand over the court.
